Fall Fruit Tree Pruning – October 28 10:00am -12:00pm

Learn to Improve apple, pear, cherry, plum, peach and fig tree harvests by learning proper pruning techniques. Ways to change the shape of the tree will be included.

Free but registration required.

Training New Fruit Trees – October 28 1:00 -3:00pm

Learn Standard and Espalier techniques to train and shape new fruit trees. Apples, pears, cherries, plums and other fruit trees will be included. Registration required.

Fruit Tree Winter Pruning and Training – November 4, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

During this workshop, Tree Fruit Expert, Richard Hallman, will teach you how apple, pear, plum and other fruit trees grow and produce fruit. Then he will teach how to train, prune and shape them during the winter dormant season for maximum fruit production. Pruning of new trees and training them to various shapes such as espalier will be included. Maintenance pruning of mature and renovation of overgrown trees will also be discussed. An important part of this workshop is how to identify and remove disease portions of your trees.

This entire workshop will take place at the Maples Discovery Garden Coop, 7743 – 200th Street, Langley. Dress for rain or shine and bring a bag lunch. The location is across from the Langley Event Centre on the West Side of 200th Street. Please approach the turn off from the north, the entrance is marked by two orange triangles.
